Coach's Clearances

UpdatedFriday February 28, 2020 byAmy Billetta.

The Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) requires certain individuals to obtain clearances in order to be a volunteer with children. The purpose for requiring clearances is to provide those selecting volunteers with information to use as a part of a larger decision-making process when determining whether to select them as a volunteer.

Clearances are required for an unpaid volunteer at a minimum of every 60 months from the date of the oldest clearance. Clearances may be required more frequently based on licensure or employer requirements.

All SFYAL coaches (head coaches, assistant coaches & parent helpers) MUST have their clearances on file with SFYAL.  These include - PA Criminal History Report, PA Child Abuse Clearance & one of the following depending on residency, FBI Fingerprint clearance or FBI waiver.  All forms are to be submitted prior to the start of the upcoming season to Amy Billetta,  Under no circumstance may anyone not cleared participate in any practice, game, etc.
